Overview

Students will delve deep into the principles of management, financial decision-making, business data analytics, international business practices, and specific processes related to logistics and supply chain operations. Graduates will emerge as proficient professionals, primed to contribute effectively in optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, and ensuring the seamless delivery of goods and services in various business environments. 

Modules

The module provides an overview of management and its evolution. It examines management functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling and its impact on the business organization. It discusses necessary skills and functions required for efficient manager in contemporary business environment. Overall, it enables students to analyze and understand changing business environment, and the role of ethics, social responsibility, and environmental issues in contemporary business environment.
The aim of this unit is to provide students with a framework to learn accounting concepts and use accounting information required to make key business decisions. Students will learn how to apply fundamental accounting concepts to prepare financial reports and to analyse and interpret this information in the decision-making process. Additionally, students will learn how to use management accounting budgets and planning techniques in making critical financial decisions. Overall, this unit provides students with the necessary financial knowledge and skills for their future roles in the world of business.
This module is designed to provide students with an understanding of how analytics can help improve their decision-making in business. Students can discover a new way to look at data and identify insights, improve their ability to make predictions for the long term, and prescribe actions that make better business decisions.

This module focuses on the overview of the unique problems faced by firms engaging in international activities; the importance of understanding the foreign economic, social, political, cultural, and legal environment; the mechanics of importing and exporting; joint venture, franchising, and subsidiaries, international dimensions of management, marketing and accounting, and international financial management. The concentration will also explore the special problems of multi-national corporations; recent problems of the international economic system, as well as country-risk analysis.  

This module aims to familiarize the students with supply chain management which is a process of strategically managing the procurement, movement and storage of materials, parts and finished inventory and related information flows through the organization and its marketing channels in such a way that current and future profitability are maximized through the cost-effective fulfillment of orders aimed at continuously improving all aspects of the operational performance of an organization.  

On completion of this module, learners will be able to understand the concepts of logistics management that link to the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain and explain plans, designs, processes and systems for the improved control or improvement of supply chain logistics.

Purchasing and procurement are essential components of supply chain management (SCM). They are crucial to the success of SCM. The logistics involved in purchasing and procurement are also covered in SCM, which includes coordinating all aspects of planning, purchasing, production, warehousing, and transportation so that the products will reach the end consumer. This module aims to provide an overview of the fundamental practices in managing these functions and how it impacts the organisation.  

This module aims to provide students with a good understanding of warehouse and inventory management. The process involves receiving, storing, and tracking inventory in a warehouse, managing warehouse staff, and optimizing logistics costs, fulfillment, and shipping processes. Specific focus will be on the operational and functional links between warehousing and inventory management.

Entry Requirements

Age Requirements: 17 years old and above.

Academic Requirements: At least 2 passes at GCE ‘A’ level; or Year 12 High School; or Relevant Diploma from another local polytechnic or PEIs Pathway Programme; or Educare Global Academy Foundation Course programme; or Mature Candidates who are atleast 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience.

Language Proficiency: Minimum of Band 6.0 IELTS; or PTE Academic score 46.0; or Doulingo English Test 95-100; or TOEFL iBT score of 60; or Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English; or C6 pass in English GCE ‘O’ level; or equivalent. 

Mode of Delivery

Mode of Delivery: The Diploma programme consists of 8 modules and may be completed after 8 months of lessons. Lessons will commence 5 days a week for a maximum of 3 hours per day with a total of 416 learning hours. 

Assessment Method: Written Exams, Practical Assessments/Presentations and Projects.

Graduation Requirements: Minimum of 50% pass in all modules.

Duration: 8 months

Graduation

Upon the successful completion, students will be awarded the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Educare Global Academy. 

Diploma graduates can continue on to the Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
