The Advanced Diploma in Computer Science program introduces students to the foundational and cutting-edge topics within the realm of Computer Science.

Overview

The Advanced Diploma in Computer Science learners will be equipped with in-depth knowledge and skills in various areas of the discipline, from application development on mobile platforms to the intricacies of computational mathematics. In addition, learners will be primed for both industry roles and further academic pursuits with strong proficiencies in software project management, database integration in business contexts, and core computer science concepts.

Modules

Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Design and implement intuitive and responsive user interfaces suitable for diverse mobile devices. Understand and apply the principles of mobile application lifecycle from conception to deployment.

Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to: Understand the fundamental concepts of programming, such as variables, data types, and control structures using Java. Write, debug, and test programs using basic algorithms and functions.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Implement advanced programming concepts, including object-oriented programming, inheritance, polymorphism and building Java web development environment. Interface with external APIs and libraries to enhance software functionality using the Spring framework.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Understand and apply various software development methodologies, from Waterfall to Agile. Develop a project charter, scope, and a work breakdown structure for a software project.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Design, normalize, and implement relational database systems suited for business requirements. Write efficient SQL queries for data retrieval, insertion, updating, and deletion.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Describe the fundamental components of computer systems and their interrelationships. Understand the principles of instruction cycle, data paths, and memory hierarchies.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to Implement and manipulate common data structures such as stacks, queues, trees, and graphs. Design and analyze the efficiency of algorithms for sorting, searching, and other computational problems.
Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to apply mathematical logic, set theory, and graph theory in computational problem-solving using Numpy. Understand and use numerical methods for problems in interpolation, integration, differential equations and association rules.

Entry Requirements

Age Requirements: 18 years old and above.

Academic Requirements: Year 12 High School or equivalent; or Diploma from a polytechnic in Singapore or the same disciple Diploma from other Private Education Institutes; Other foreign qualifications shall be assessed on a case-by-case basis; or Matured Candidates must be at least 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience. 

Language Proficiency: Minimum of Band 6.0 IELTS; or PTE Academic score 46.0; or Doulingo English Test 95-100; or TOEFL iBT score of 60; or Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English; or C6 pass in English GCE ‘O’ level; or equivalent. 

Mode of Delivery

Mode of Delivery: The Diploma programme consists of 8 modules and may be completed after 8 months of lessons. Lessons will commence 5 days a week for a maximum of 3 hours per day with a total of 416 learning hours. 

Assessment Method: Written Exams, Practical Assessments/Presentations and Projects.

Graduation Requirements: Minimum of 50% pass in all modules.

Duration: 8 months

Upon the successful completion, students will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Educare Global Academy.
